Scribie review

I'd been looking for quite some time for a good earning site prior to finding Scribie and had applied to other transcription companies (such as Rev.com) unsuccessfully before finding Scribie.

Advantages of Scribie

  • One of the great things about Scribie is that I'm getting a lot of experience when it comes to transcribing and doing transcription reviews, and it's easy to sign up and get involved.
  • The hardest part was the waiting period at the beginning between when your application is reviewed and they send you the invitation. Depending on how many applications there are at that moment, it can be days (though from what I read before I signed up, wait periods had been weeks or months previously).

  • In addition to completing transcripts, once you have maintained a profile in good standing with Scribie, you are eligible to complete transcript reviews. These are another way to increase your earnings and to get a better idea of what the company is looking for from completed transcripts.

  • Doing reviews, you still earn the same rate, but you are entering in time stamps and making corrections, as opposed to typing out entire transcripts. For someone that's not necessarily the fastest typist, but has excellent grammar skills, this would be a great fit.
  • Scribie allows self-reviews in which you can complete a transcript and then review your own work. For this, you must have a profile in good standing from both the transcribing and the reviewing sections.

You do have to have a verified Paypal account since they pay through Paypal only. So aside from that requirement, there aren't any other country requirements.

Overall, working with Scribie has been easy and simple, and I love that they payout through Paypal.

  • It's nice knowing that I'm not giving out my bank account information all over the internet. I love using Paypal to receive payments, and then transferring the amounts to my bank account as needed.
  • Additionally, the $10 bonus credit for every 3 audio hours submitted is pretty nice. So there's a standard of $10/audio hour, plus the $10 bonus/3 audio hours. This last month I received a $100 bonus for submitting 30 hours of audio over the course of the month; which is just 1 audio hour per day basically.
